VOLANDIA: Museum of Flight near Malpensa Airport

Milan Malpensa [ENA] "Take a look around you - the bricks and the wood you see witnessed the challenge of man against the sky". This is the slogan of the Volandia's website, a park and not only a museum. Located closed to the Terminal 1 of Milan Malpensa International Airport, an inside and the outside areas

welcome the visitors with a a shoground dedicated to the old and current aeronautical industries of Varese province. The museum is divided into seven areas: forms of flight, fixed wing, rotary wing, space pavilion, drones, model aircrafts and baby volandia. It narrates the epic tale of aeronautics in all its forms, from the pioneering flights of the beginning of the 20th century, up to the futuristic convertiplane, from hot-air balloons to the conquest of space along over 2 km of exhibition.

Volandia is "Park and Museum", with several zones – both indoor and outdoor – for the kids and for all the children hidden inside us: flight simulators, planetarium, aircraft models, Ogliari section, library, movies, bar, restaurant and an interesting Volandia Store. Inside the former Caproni Aeronautics factory and the main models produced by Caproni, SIAI-Marchetti, Aermacchi e Agusta , the museum hosts a great exhibition of cars and concepts coming from the ASI Bertone Collection and the Bertoni museum plus an area of the pavillion dedicated to the Caproni Vizzola family.
